About this episode

During summer break, I also went to Lake Kawaguchi to see Mt. Fuji, but unfortunately, I could barely see it. It is said that people in the past worshipped Mt. Fuji like a god in hopes of calming its repeated eruptions. Before climbing the mountain, they would purify themselves at Oshino Hakkai, which is now a famous tourist destination. I could only see the silhouette of Mt. Fuji, but it seemed almost as if the mountain were embracing all of Yamanashi. Even then, I could feel its immense presence. 【Today’s words】 噴火 (ふんか) / volcanic eruption おさめる / to calm, to bring under control 清める (きよめる) / to purify 抱き抱える (だきかかえる) / to hold in one’s arms, to embrace 偉大さ (いだいさ) / greatness ★This post is also available on the broadcast channel (Japanese daily tips) of my Instagram. 【https://www.instagram.com/channel/AbbOi9lyhNtGwo6A/?igsh=enhqNGRyajhobnZ5】
