About this episode
#422 A mini pilgrimage in Tokyo The other day, I visited a temple called Takahata Fudoson in Hino, Tokyo. There, you can do a smaller version of the Shikoku 88-temple pilgrimage by following a route around the temple grounds with 88 sacred spots. (*) It’s about a one-hour hiking course, so I went there thinking it would be more like a casual walk, but there were so many stairs that it was much harder than I expected. Still, walking through the forest and seeing the seasonal flowers felt wonderful. 【Today’s words】 ※ 四国八十八箇所巡り (しこく はちじゅうはっかしょめぐり) / The Shikoku 88-temple pilgrimage is a famous pilgrimage route in Japan where people visit 88 Buddhist temples around the island of Shikoku. 山内 (さんない) / within the temple grounds X箇所 (X かしょ) / places, spots 巡る (めぐる) / to go around, visit a series of places ハイキングコース / hiking trail 予想以上 (よそう いじょう) / more than expected きつい / tough, physically demanding ※ The next post will be on November 4th, Wednesday. Thank you so much as always:)!! ★This post is also available on the broadcast channel (Japanese daily tips) of my Instagram. 【https://www.instagram.com/channel/AbbOi9lyhNtGwo6A/?igsh=enhqNGRyajhobnZ5】
