Instant Reaction: Vice Presidential Debate

Ohio Senator and Trump running mate JD Vance faced off with Minnesota Governor and Harris VP pick Tim Walz for the first Vice Presidential debate - and possibly the last debate of the 2024 election cycle. The candidates touched on key topics such as foreign policy, climate change, and immigration. Walz opened with sharp criticism toward Donald Trump, noting that many of the former president’s own aides had questioned the Republican presidential candidate’s suitability for office. Vance repeatedly targeted Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, suggesting she should have done more over the past four years to address chaos abroad and a struggling economy.
