She Escaped After 8 Years Underground

In this episode of Crime Bit with Danelle Hallan, we examine the abduction of 10-year-old Natascha Kampusch, who vanished on her way to school in Vienna and was held captive beneath a house for more than eight years. What began as a routine walk turned into a nightmare of control, isolation, and survival as missed tips and investigative failures let her captor stay hidden in plain sight. As the years passed, Natascha learned how to endure, adapt, and wait for the right moment. Her eventual escape exposed not only the man who took her, but also the mistakes, myths, and public obsession that followed her long after she got out. Learn more about your ad choices.
