Education used to be the product. In 2027, it won’t be. In this episode of the Email Empire Podcast, Allison breaks down why she believes 2027 will be the year of implementation, not education, and what that means for anyone selling courses, memberships, digital products, or group programs. She shares how OpenAI’s decision to remove Custom GPTs on December 11th pushed her to make a big change inside her membership, Emails That Sell, and gets real about the tough-love question every course creator needs to ask right now: If AI can teach it for free, what are people actually paying you for? BIG TAKEAWAY: Stop asking, “How do I teach people more?” Start asking, “How do I help people get it done?” 🔗 LINKS MENTIONED: 💌→ Emails That Sell 🤖→ The AI Product Build Lab with Kelly Sinclair 🌎→ Website 📲→ Instagram 🤯 DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE? A tiny email marketing setting created a surprisingly big shift in one of our client’s Nurture Sequences. In this episode of the Email Empire Podcast, I’m breaking down the sender name experiment that increased the open rate on the second email of a Nurture Sequence by nearly 20 percentage points. We tested using the name of the lead magnet or Masterclass instead of the creator’s name, and the results pointed to something bigger than just email open rates: your newest email subscribers may recognize the thing they signed up for long before they recognize you. I’ll walk you through the actual email marketing data, why the second email was struggling with opens, unsubscribes, and spam complaints, and how changing the sender name helped create a stronger connection between the resource someone requested and the person who created it. This experiment originally came from the Email Marketing Trend Report, where every month I break down something we’re testing, noticing, or changing inside my email marketing or a client’s email marketing, along with the numbers and what you can test in your own business. The Report is just $7/month and is designed to give you practical email marketing strategy based on what we’re actually seeing behind the scenes. BIG TAKEAWAY: Your newest subscribers may not know your name yet. Giving them something recognizable in the inbox can help bridge the gap between “I remember downloading this” and “I know who this person is.” 🔗 LINKS MENTIONED: 👩💻→ The Email Marketing Trend Report 🌎→ Website 📲→ Instagram 🤯 DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE? Here’s the really freaking annoying thing about marketing: Pretty much everything works. Live launches work. Automated email funnels work. Facebook Ads work. Collaborations work. Social media works. So the question isn’t really does this strategy work? It’s does this strategy work for you? In this episode of the Email Empire Podcast, I’m breaking down the two things every business needs to do — generate leads and sell to those leads — and why I’ve chosen automated email funnels and hosting Bundles as the primary ways I do those two things. BIG TAKEAWAY: Stop asking whether the strategy works. It probably does. Start asking whether the strategy works for you. 🔗 LINKS MENTIONED: 🧲→ The Next 500: Bundle Challenge 💸→ Sell on Autopilot Masterclass 🌎→ Website 📲→ Instagram 🤯 DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE? What if launching an offer didn’t require you to spend two weeks living on Instagram, recording Stories between school pickup and dinner, and hoping nobody gets sick at the exact wrong moment? In this Empire Exclusive episode of the Email Empire Podcast, I’m talking with Jordyn Bailey about how she uses email-only launches to test offers, sell spots, and create momentum in her business — without turning her entire life upside down every time she wants to sell something. Jordyn is a mom of six who has spent years working behind the scenes on funnels and launches, and she’s seen just how powerful email can be. After helping clients successfully launch offers through email — including one $100K email-only launch — she started applying the same strategy to her own business. We’re getting into how she warms up her email list before making an offer, why she often tests new ideas with her subscribers before taking them anywhere else, and what she does when a launch doesn’t perform the way she hoped it would. Because one of my favorite parts of this conversation is Jordyn’s approach to data: a disappointing launch isn’t automatically a failed launch. Sometimes it gives you exactly the information you need to make the next one better. BIG TAKEAWAY: Your launch does not have to follow someone else’s rules to work. Know what you want to accomplish, build the strategy backward from that goal, watch what your audience actually responds to, and give yourself room to adjust. Because the real goal is to build a way of selling that can keep getting smarter — and actually fits into the life you’re building your business around. 🤗 CONNECT WITH JORDYN: 📲→ Find Jordyn on Instagram 🎧 → Listen to Jordyn's private podcast, The Inbox Fix 🤝→ Work with Jordyn through her Email Intensive 🔗 LINKS MENTIONED: 🧲→ The Next 500: Bundle Challenge 💵→ The $80,000 Email Template 🌎→ Website 📲→ Instagram 🤯 DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE? If your next launch doesn’t perform the way you hoped, the problem might not be your offer, sales page, or email marketing— it might be that you simply don’t have enough of the right people on your email list yet. In this episode of the Email Empire Podcast, Allison breaks down why hosting a Bundle can be such a powerful email list growth and audience-building strategy for coaches, experts, and online business owners who want to grow faster through collaboration marketing. Allison shares how hosting Bundles has helped her to add hundreds—and sometimes thousands—of new email subscribers while putting her business in front of audiences that other entrepreneurs have already built. She’ll also talk about why the goal isn’t just growing a bigger email list, but attracting right-fit subscribers who make sense for your offers, launches, memberships, and paid programs. And she’ll show you why your Bundle doesn’t have to be the launch—it can be the list-building strategy that grows your audience before your next launch begins. BIG TAKEAWAY: You don’t need to wait until launch week to discover you have an audience-size problem. Grow the email list before you need the buyers. 🔗 LINKS MENTIONED: 🧲→ The Next 500: Bundle Challenge 💵→ The $80,000 Email Template 🌎→ Website 📲→ Instagram 🤯 DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE? Want to monetize the work you're already doing in your business? In this Email Empire episode, Allison breaks down her Debrief Funnel strategy. She digs into how she turns the work she’s already doing inside her business into email marketing content, email sales funnels, and digital product and course sales. Allison walks you through the exact behavior-based email automation she uses to move email subscribers from a debrief video into a relevant email Pitch Sequence based on what they clicked and showed interest in. This strategy not only segment's Allison's email list, but has also had a 10% sales conversion rate. If you’re an online coach, course creator, expert, or entrepreneur who teaches what you actively do in your own business, this episode will show you how to turn your existing work into an evergreen content and email sales system. BIG TAKEAWAY: You don’t always need to create more marketing content to make more sales—document the work you’re already doing, let subscriber behavior reveal what they’re interested in, and use your email funnel to make the next relevant offer. 🔗 LINKS MENTIONED: 💰→ Sell on Autopilot Masterclass 💵→ The $80,000 Email Template 🌎→ Website 📲→ Instagram 🤯 DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE? What happens to your online business when life gets messy and you can’t show up the way you normally do? In this episode of the Email Empire Podcast, I’m sharing how my automated email funnel, evergreen email marketing strategy, and consistent lead generation kept my business running during a summer filled with moving, black mold, cockroaches, travel, baseball, and a whole lot of unexpected chaos. I’ll break down why I focused almost exclusively on email list growth through collaborations, lead magnet swaps, and Bundles—and then let my 12-month automated email sales funnel nurture those new subscribers and make offers for me. We’re also talking about the difference between building a business that makes less when you work less and building a business that completely stops making money when you stop showing up. If you want to create an online business that relies less on constant launches, social media content, and live selling, this episode will show you why evergreen email funnels and automated email marketing systems matter. BIG TAKEAWAY: Build your email marketing systems for the season when you won’t be able to give your business everything—because eventually, life will require your attention somewhere else. 🔗 LINKS MENTIONED: 💰→ Sell on Autopilot Masterclass 💵→ The $80,000 Email Template 🌎→ Website 📲→ Instagram 🤯 DID YOU HAVE AN 'AH-HA MOMENT' WHILE LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE? Some buyers aren’t purchasing because they’re desperate to escape a problem, they’re purchasing because they can finally see what’s possible on the other side of it. In this episode, Allison breaks down the transformational buyer and shows you why simply listing what your offer includes isn’t enough to move this person toward a decision. You’ll learn how to connect the work inside your offer to the meaningful outcomes your audience actually wants, without relying on vague, fluffy promises. Because your potential buyers shouldn’t have to figure out why your offer matters; your sales emails need to make that connection for them. TAKEAWAYS Learn how the Transformational Buyer differs from the Pain Point Buyer, even when both are experiencing the exact same problem. Use grounded aspirational language to help your audience picture a desirable future that still feels specific, believable, and connected to your offer. Add “so that” language to your sales copy to clearly connect the work your buyer will do with the outcome they want to experience. Review your offer’s features and ask what each one changes, creates, or makes possible for your buyer. Stop ending your sales copy at “you’ll learn how” and start showing your audience why that knowledge actually matters. In this Empire Exclusive episode, Allison sits down with business strategist Megan Yelaney to talk about how she’s using email to create real connection, build demand, and make her newsletter something people actually look forward to reading. Megan's approach to her newsletter doesn't involve cramming every email with “mind-blowing value”. Instead, Megan shares the simple three-part format behind her weekly newsletter, The Weekly Edge, and how she blends personal life, behind-the-scenes business content, and client wins in a way that feels both strategic and genuinely human. TAKEAWAYS: Your newsletter doesn’t have to be packed with constant education to be valuable; connection, transparency, and behind-the-scenes context can be just as powerful. Megan’s three-part newsletter format makes email easier to write by giving each issue a simple structure: life, business, and client stories. Behind-the-scenes content is working because people want to see how you actually operate, make decisions, solve problems, and balance real life with business. Client wins become more compelling when you give context, not just screenshots, so your audience can understand the transformation and see what’s possible for them. A weekly newsletter can become a repurposing engine for your content instead of another one-off task that disappears after you hit send. Some buyers on your email list don’t need you to convince them they have a problem—they already know. They’re living it, they can name it, and they’ve probably tried to solve it before. In this episode, Allison is breaking down the Pain Point Buyer. This is the Buyer Type who feels the frustration, sees the gap, and needs your sales email to connect the dots between their problem and your solution—without the gross, shame-y marketing tactics. Because yes, you can sell by naming what’s not working, without making your people feel terrible about themselves. TAKEAWAYS The Pain Point Buyer already knows they have the problem your offer solves, so your job is not to manufacture pain—it’s to make them feel seen, understood, and supported. Not everyone with a problem is ready to solve it, which means this email is best used later in your Email Pitch Sequence when your buyer is more aware and closer to making a decision. Strong pain point messaging names the real frustration beneath the surface-level problem. You can acknowledge what’s not working without using fear, shame, or overly dramatic copy to push someone into buying. An email speaking directly to the Pain Point Buyer should clearly connect the buyer’s existing frustration to the transformation your offer helps them create. In this episode of the Email Empire Podcast, Allison Hardy is breaking down the buyer type who is this close to buying, but has one specific question standing between them and the “Buy Now” button. Meet the Invitational Buyer. The Buyer Type who needs explicit permission to hit 'Reply' and ask what’s really on their mind. And yes, this email may feel almost too simple to work, but Allison shares why it can open the exact conversations that lead to more sales. TAKEAWAYS The Invitational Buyer is often already interested, already reading, and already considering your offer, they just need one specific concern answered before they feel ready to buy. A simple “hit 'Reply' and ask me your question” email can create powerful sales conversations because it gives people permission to ask what they may otherwise keep to themselves. Not every objection is big, obvious, or FAQ-worthy. Sometimes the thing stopping someone from buying is highly specific to their business, schedule, capacity, tech, or circumstances. When you answer someone’s question personally and specifically, you create trust, and that kind of trust can make the next step feel much easier for the buyer. Allison shares how this exact type of email was directly responsible for over $80,000 in sales in her business in 2025, proving that simple does not mean ineffective. Not everyone on your email list is ready to buy because you listed the modules, bonuses, and deadline. Some of your buyers need to understand you first. They want to know why you do what you do, what has shaped your approach, and whether they trust the person behind the offer. In this episode, Allison breaks down the Relational Buyer and shows you how to write an origin story sales email that creates connection and moves people toward buying. Because your story matters—but only when it clearly connects back to the offer you’re selling. TAKEAWAYS The Relational Buyer is asking more than, “Is this offer right for me?” They also want to know if they trust you, understand your perspective, and feel safe learning from you. A strong origin story email is not the same thing as a casual “about me” email. It should explain why you care about solving this problem and how that connects directly to your offer. Your story does not need to be dramatic, deeply vulnerable, or trauma-filled to be effective. It simply needs to be relevant to the problem your offer solves. The most persuasive stories help your reader understand your lens, your beliefs, and the reason your approach is different. Don’t make your reader connect the dots on their own. After sharing your story, clearly explain why it matters and why it led you to create the offer you’re inviting them into. In this episode, Allison is continuing the 7 Buyer Types Series with one of the most common buyer types sitting on your email list right now, the Skeptical Buyer. This person isn’t difficult or impossible to sell to, they’ve just been burned before, and they’re reading your emails with a little side-eye. In this episode, you’ll learn why your biggest, flashiest client wins might actually make skeptical buyers trust you less, and what to share instead. Allison breaks down how normal, grounded client stories can lower the wall, build belief, and help your next buyer finally think, “Okay… this could actually work for me.” TAKEAWAYS Skeptical buyers are not cynical buyers, they are people who have been disappointed by overhyped promises, under-delivered offers, and vague success stories before. When you lead with your biggest client win too early, a skeptical buyer may write it off as an exception instead of seeing it as proof that your offer can work for them. Grounded, “normal” client stories can be more persuasive because they help your audience see the realistic path from where they are now to what is possible. Your skeptical buyer needs context, transparency, and specificity, not louder claims, more exclamation points, or another shiny screenshot. Instead of simply dropping a testimonial like a receipt, use client stories to connect the dots between the problem, the shift, the strategy, and the result. Email doesn’t have to feel like a blank Google Doc staring into your soul. In this episode, Allison chats with Liz Wilcox, the Fresh Princess of Email Marketing, about how to write emails that actually get opened, read, replied to, and yes, even clicked on. Liz breaks down why your emails don’t need to be overproduced or packed with “value” to work, and why the best email content often starts with real-life moments, simple conversations, and a little personality. Because the goal isn’t just to close a sale, it’s to open a conversation. TAKEAWAYS: Your emails don’t need to be complicated to be effective. Liz shares how showing you’re invested, becoming relatable, and staying top of mind can help your subscribers actually care about what you send. The “Email Staircase” framework helps you move people from follower, to friend, to customer by building trust through personality, vision, and values. Being relatable doesn’t mean everyone has to love the exact same things you do. When you share specific pieces of your personality, your audience can connect with the feeling behind them. Replies are not a distraction from your business, they can be a money-making activity. Conversations in the inbox give you real market research, better sales copy, and clearer insight into what your audience actually needs. If your subscribers stay “friends” but never become customers, you may not be selling enough. Liz gives a refreshing reframe on selling more often without making it weird. In part two of this seven-part buyer type series, Allison is breaking down the Details Buyer — aka the email subscriber who needs more information before they feel safe making a decision. And before you roll your eyes at the idea of writing an FAQ email, this episode will show you why a strategic FAQ email is not just a boring list of questions and answers. You’ll learn how to go beyond surface-level logistics and uncover the deeper objections hiding underneath, so your sales emails can create confidence, reduce risk, and help the right buyers say yes. TAKEAWAYS The Details Buyer isn’t trying to be difficult, they’re trying to make a smart, informed decision before investing (no matter how big or small of a purchase). More details can create safety for this buyer type, which means your FAQ email has a bigger job than simply answering logistical questions. A strong FAQ email answers the question being asked while also addressing the deeper hesitation or objection underneath it. Surface-level answers give information, but strategic answers reduce risk and help the buyer picture how your offer will actually fit into their life or business. When your Email Pitch Sequence only speaks to one type of buyer, you may be leaving sales on the table, which is why each email should speak to a specific decision-making style. Not every buyer on your email list needs a long, emotional sales journey before they’re ready to say yes. Some people have already been paying attention, already trust your point of view, and honestly…they just want the link. In this episode, Allison kicks off a brand-new seven-part series on the different buyer types that exist in your audience, starting with the No Frills Buyer: the person who wants the facts, the next step, and zero unnecessary fluff. TAKEAWAYS: The No Frills Buyer is not careless with their money; they’re often already warmed up, already aware of the problem, and ready to take action quickly. This buyer type is highly motivated by time, which means they want to know how fast they can get started, how long the offer is available, and whether it will save them time or create more work. Over-explaining in your sales emails can actually work against you with No Frills Buyers because it makes the buying decision feel harder than it needs to be. No Frills Buyers are usually scanners, so your email needs to make the offer, outcome, timeline, and link incredibly easy to find. A short, direct sales email only works when your nurture content has already done its job, so don’t skip the relationship-building that happens before the invitation to buy comes. Your Email Pitch Sequence is not where the selling starts. And if you’re treating it that way, that might be exactly why your email funnel isn’t converting. In this episode, Allison breaks down what your Pitch Sequence is actually supposed to do, how it fits into a high-converting email funnel, and why speaking to only one type of buyer is leaving money on the table. You’ll hear the seven buyer types hiding inside your audience, what each one needs to hear before they buy, and the exact order Allison recommends for your pitch emails. Because yes, your people need different things before they feel ready to say yes, and your job is to make the invitation clear, intentional, and impossible to ignore. TAKEAWAYS: Your Nurture Sequence does the heavy lifting of selling your ideas, methodology, and authority before the Pitch Sequence ever begins. A Pitch Sequence should make the invitation to buy official by clearly presenting the offer, the deadline, and the next step. Different buyer types need different emails, which means a one-note Pitch Sequence can miss huge segments of your audience. FAQ emails are not just about answering questions. They are a strategic way to address objections that may be keeping people from buying. Client stories, personal stories, pain points, and possibility-driven emails all play different roles in helping buyers feel seen, understood, and ready to take action. ![EP 478 | A Simpler Way to Sell Digital Products featuring Dama Jue [Empire Exclusive]](https://d3wo5wojvuv7l.cloudfront.net/t_rss_itunes_square_1400/images.spreaker.com/original/ca0bf76422e9ed70c9543e76a53d758e.jpg)
In this Empire Exclusive episode, Allison sits down with funnel strategist and Thrivecart expert Dama Jue to talk about a simpler, smarter way to sell digital products without making your business feel like a never-ending launch machine. Dama shares how she uses “subtle selling” inside her emails, why your audience actually needs to hear about your offers more often, and how she repurposes her best sales emails into an evergreen funnel that keeps working even when life life’s. TAKEAWAYS: Subtle selling is not about being pushy; it’s about consistently connecting your everyday thoughts, stories, and expertise back to the offers that can actually help your audience. Dama’s “Evergreen Forever Funnel” shows how your best sales emails do not have to disappear after a launch; they can be cleaned up, repurposed, and turned into ongoing sales assets. Your emails can train your audience to expect value and offers at the same time, which makes selling feel more natural for both you and your subscribers. Data matters, especially when you’re deciding where to spend your time, energy, and money. Dama shares how tracking her leads helped her stop relying on platforms that were not converting. There is no one “right” way to do email marketing. The real magic happens when you combine best practices with your own voice, your actual results, and the way you naturally sell. After someone downloads your lead magnet, you cannot just cross your fingers and eyes and toes, and *hope* they magically decide to buy. In this episode, Allison breaks down exactly what to send next so your Nurture Sequence actually leads somewhere instead of becoming a random pile of “nice to have” emails. You’ll hear how to guide subscribers step by step, build real buyer readiness, and make your offer feel like the natural next move. TAKEAWAYS: Your Nurture Sequence should bridge the gap between the lead magnet and the pitch, not leave subscribers hanging with content that feels good but goes nowhere. Each email should solve one pain point while naturally revealing the next one, so your audience keeps moving forward instead of stalling out. The Nurture Sequence is where you sell people on the ideas, methodology, and transformation behind your program before you ever ask them to buy. Simple, actionable content like templates or quick wins helps subscribers experience your process, trust your expertise, and start seeing results before they become clients LINKS YOU MIGHT FIND HELPFUL: Check out the blog post that accompanies this podcast episode for more details and resources. If your email list is growing but your sales aren’t, your lead magnet might be the problem. And unfortunately, no amount of “better emails” will fix it. In this episode, you’ll learn how to spot when you’re attracting the wrong people (even if your opt-in is wildly popular) to your email funnel, and what to do instead to bring in buyers, not just subscribers. Because the truth is, your email funnel doesn’t sell when the wrong people are in it. TAKEAWAYS: Your email funnel isn’t broken, your lead magnet might be. If the wrong subscribers are entering into your email funnel, even the most strategic emails won’t sell. The size of the “gap” matters more than you think. The bigger the leap between where your subscriber is and where they need to be to buy, the harder it is to convert them into paying clients. More leads does not equal more sales. A viral or high-performing lead magnet can still attract completely unqualified subscribers to your email funnel. The best lead magnets are rooted in subscriber readiness. You need to meet people where they are and guide them to the next logical step, not overwhelm them. Your most powerful lead magnet is probably already inside your paid program. Pull out the piece that gets the biggest results and turn it into your entry point.
