Episode 1186: WHY DO WE NEED OTHER PEOPLE TO KNOW WHO WE ARE?
About this episode
Perhaps the deepest wound many people carry is not rejection itself, but the feeling of being fundamentally misunderstood. Rejection is something the mind can usually locate. It has a shape, a moment, a boundary you can point to and say “this is where it ended.” But misunderstanding is not like that. It does not always arrive as a single event. It tends to accumulate slowly, almost invisibly, across time. It appears in conversations that almost made sense but didn’t quite land. In explanations that felt clear internally but came out distorted externally. In moments where you thought you were expressing something true about yourself, only to realize the person in front of you walked away with something slightly or sometimes completely different.
