About this episode
There was a time when almost everything amazed us. A butterfly landing on a flower. The moon appearing in the afternoon sky. A rainbow after a storm. Fireflies glowing in the darkness. The first snowfall of winter. A seashell discovered along the shore. As children... We could spend twenty minutes examining a rock. Not because the rock was particularly unusual. Because we hadn't yet decided that rocks were ordinary. Perhaps that is one of the great differences between childhood and adulthood. Children encounter the world. Adults begin assuming they already know it.
