From 9-18 October across rounds 9 & 10, the AFLW Pride Round returned for its seventh year, celebrating the LGBTQIA+ people who helped build women’s football and continue to shape the game today. The JOY 94.9 team were in the thick of the action partnering with the AFL for a live broadcast before the game at the Carlton v Western Bulldogs game at IKON Park on Saturday 17 October. Jacs from Game On and Fiona Newton from Chicks Talking Footy were joined on air by the incredible people making an important contribution to footy being such a powerful space for connection and belonging.
