Mercy That Flows from Mercy Received

Mercy is not how we become Christians, but the inevitable fruit of those who have received God's rich mercy in Christ. This sermon opens up "Blessed are the merciful" by contrasting shallow religious sacrifice with the heart God desires—steadfast love, practical pity toward those in misery, and costly forgiveness toward those who have sinned against us. Drawing from Hosea, Matthew 5 and 9, Jude, and real-life examples, it presses believers to imitate Jesus by extending mercy in ordinary, often hidden ways—toward enemies, neighbors, family, and even deep, long-standing wounds—while reminding us that God's new mercies every morning both enable and reward such a life.
