2000 Plus - "A Veteran Comes Home" (1950)

2000 Plus presents “A Veteran Comes Home,” originally broadcast on July 5, 1950. Episode 17 of the Mutual Broadcasting System science-fiction series, it was directed by Sherman H. Dryer and stars Bill Griffis as Mike and Joan Shea as Mary. After five years fighting in the Martian War, Mike returns to his Earth home, where his wife and young son have waited for the family’s reunion. This thoughtful future-war drama contrasts a child’s excitement about military heroism with a veteran’s struggle to leave combat behind. Old Time Sci-Fi Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
