Dimension X - "No Contact" (1950)

Dimension X presents “No Contact,” episode 27, originally broadcast October 28, 1950. Written by George Lefferts from a storyline by Lefferts and Ernest Kinoy, this NBC science-fiction drama stars Luis van Rooten as Captain Thorson and Donald Buka as Lieutenant Collier. On June 2, 1987, the rocket Star Cloud makes the sixth attempt to reach the distant planet Volta. Five earlier expeditions disappeared at the mysterious Galactic Barrier, an invisible obstacle in deep space. As Captain Thorson and his crew draw near, troubling radiation readings and an unexplained condition aboard the ship turn the mission into a tense test of communication, trust, and survival. This broadcast is a rebroadcast of the April 29, 1950 production. Old Time Sci-Fi Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
