Dimension X - "The Castaways" (1950)

Dimension X presents “The Castaways,” episode 19, originally broadcast on NBC on August 11, 1950. This atomic-age drama was written by Ernest Kinoy from an original story by Kinoy and George Lefferts, and stars Santos Ortega as General Frank Gadosh. On remote Tahani Atoll in the South Pacific, General Gadosh oversees preparations for an atomic-bomb test—but the island’s residents refuse to abandon their ancestral home. As the deadline draws near, military authority, scientific purpose, and the islanders’ determination collide in an increasingly unsettling confrontation. Old Time Sci-Fi Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
