Dimension X - "The Martian Chronicles" (1950)

Dimension X presents “The Martian Chronicles,” episode 20, originally broadcast on NBC on August 18, 1950. Adapted by Ernest Kinoy from Ray Bradbury’s newly published novel, this ambitious half-hour drama is narrated by Norman Rose. A series of linked journeys carries listeners from snowy Ohio to the canals, silent cities, and lingering mysteries of Mars. As Earth expeditions arrive and settlement begins, Bradbury’s lyrical vision contrasts human ambition with the haunting traces of an older Martian world. Old Time Sci-Fi Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
