When Harry Met Sally: Call Nora Ephron Your Daddy (with Julius Sharpe)

CATEGORY: BFFS WHO ARE DTF Today is the 50th episode of Podstruck! And to celebrate, Elena and Chelsea are rewatching arguably the best rom-com of all time, 'When Harry Met Sally.' We are joined by writer Julius Sharpe (Family Guy, Ted, Making History) to discuss the magic of Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal and why movie studio execs might have been nervous. We get nostalgic for the lost art of long phone calls, New York City in the fall, character actors like Bruno Kirby who look like real people, plus we analyze why Nora Ephron is the GOAT and how she follows in Neil Simon's footsteps of "swiss watch comedy." Rob Reiner's 1989 classic still makes us cry after all this time, though we do have a few bones to pick including one extremely unconvincing wig. Thanks for listening to our first 50 episodes!!!
