Bringing the Lordship of Christ to everyday life!
The Pentagon has announced plans to livestream the firing squad execution of Nidal Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who murdered 13 people and wounded dozens more in the 2009 Fort Hood terrorist attack. Military officials say the public broadcast is intended to demonstrate the serious consequences of such crimes. Scripture affirms the government's God-given responsibility to punish evil and uphold justice (Genesis 9:6; Romans 13:4). Capital punishment is a legitimate exercise of lawful authority when carried out justly and with due process. The more difficult question is whether executions should be public. While many support Hasan's execution as a just consequence for an act of terrorism, livestreaming it risks turning justice into spectacle. Punishment should uphold moral order, not satisfy society's depraved appetite for obscene entertainment. 👍 Like, Comment, & Subscribe for more content like this! 🔔 Turn on notifications so you never miss a video! ⛪ ABOUT LIVING STONES CHURCH: Launching in 1981 as just 30 people in a living room in Northwest Indiana, Living Stones has grown into a vibrant multi-generational church family. In this episode, we examine what we believe is the defining choice facing America in the coming midterm elections: Christ or chaos. We discuss why Christians must move beyond passive observation and embrace meaningful grassroots engagement, recognizing that lasting cultural change begins with ordinary citizens who are willing to act. We highlight the rise of India's Cockroach Janta Party, a youth-led movement that demonstrates the surprising power of grassroots activism and the ability of everyday people to challenge established institutions. We also explore the ongoing decline of the Nike brand, the growing public distrust of legacy media, and the reason so many Americans are turning away from outlets they perceive as purveyors of misinformation and ideological narratives. Finally, we discuss how the reduction of USAID funding has exposed the dependence of many activist causes on government support, raising important questions about which movements are truly grassroots and which are sustained by taxpayer dollars. Join us as we consider the spiritual, cultural, and political challenges of our moment and why faithful Christian engagement is essential for the future of our nation. The midterm elections are only seven weeks away, and the decisions made today will shape the future for generations to come. Drawing from the example of King Hezekiah, we discuss the danger of focusing on personal peace and security while neglecting our responsibility to future generations. We also examine President Trump's exclusion of certain "fake news" outlets from press conferences and explore a biblical perspective on truth, media accountability, and discernment in the public square. From the WNBA to a high-profile murder trial to the legacy of Gloria Steinem, this episode connects three major cultural stories to a single theme: the unintended and often tragic consequences of radical feminism in contemporary society.
This episode examines the biblical view of marriage, family, and children in contrast to modern cultural trends. We argue that children are a gift from God and that marriage is a lifelong covenant designed not only for companionship but also for nurturing the next generation. Drawing from Romans 1, our conversation explores how society's rejection of God's design has led to confusion about truth, family, and human flourishing and concludes with reflections on Christianity's role in public life, encouraging believers to engage cultural debates with conviction while remaining grounded in a biblical worldview. Today we tackle three major stories: the upcoming election and the battle between common sense and extremism, the UK's baffling response to the grooming gang crisis with a pamphlet instructing migrants not to rape or harass women, and the Lindsay Clancy case, including the difficult question of whether mental illness erases moral responsibility. Join us as we examine the headlines through a biblical worldview. Find out more at https://ron-johnson-discipleship-podca.pinecast.co
In this episode, we tackle a growing global epidemic: loneliness. With nearly 1 in 3 American adults reporting feelings of loneliness, we explore the personal, emotional, and spiritual impact of living disconnected from others. We also discuss the vital role the local church plays in addressing this crisis. God designed us for community, and the church provides a place where meaningful relationships, encouragement, accountability, and belonging can flourish. Truth is coherent, unified, and internally consistent. False worldviews, by contrast, eventually collapse under the weight of their own contradictions. We see signs of this in our culture today. For example, the WNBA continues to wrestle with fundamental questions of identity and definition. At the same time, we are witnessing a renewed interest in Marxist and socialist visions of a utopian social order. Yet when the doctrine of human sinfulness is rejected, people are tempted to believe that flawed human beings can somehow construct a perfect society. History repeatedly demonstrates the opposite. The result is often an ever-expanding state, increased government control, and, ultimately, the erosion of human freedom.
In our podcast today, we discuss Spain's Muslim invasion and Fauci's embarrassing evasion of the truth. Finally, why the woke WNBA continues on a path of destruction. In this episode, we explore the idea that in a free society, the greatest power belongs not to those who control weapons, but to those who shape the narrative. The controversy surrounding the Smithsonian Institution and the growing influence of Democratic Socialists in America reveal how competing worldviews seek to define history, identity, and the future. Rather than merely debating policies, Christians must ask a deeper question: What story about humanity, freedom, and truth is being told? Every movement advances a vision of the world, and those narratives ultimately shape culture. Find out more at https://ron-johnson-discipleship-podca.pinecast.co
In this episode, we tackle some of the most important issues facing our nation and the broader Western world: free speech, media influence, election integrity, and the sanctity of life. First, we examine reports from the United Kingdom that raise serious concerns about the balance between public safety and the fundamental right to free expression. Then, we discuss claims that parts of the mainstream media are choosing what the public should and should not hear by limiting coverage of a sitting President's remarks. We also take a closer look at the President's recent comments on election administration and why many Americans believe election integrity remains essential to preserving public trust in our democratic process. The conversation explores how our nation can protect both secure elections and voter access. Find out more at https://ron-johnson-discipleship-podca.pinecast.co
The Supreme Court recently struck down President Trump’s effort to restrict birthright citizenship, holding that children born in the U.S. to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily present qualify as citizens at birth. Many conservatives sharply criticized the ruling, warning it could have significant long-term cultural and national consequences.
In today’s episode, we examine the key themes of Zohran Mamdani’s Independence Day speech, including his vision of diversity as a source of national strength and the recurring focus on class conflict, economic inequality, and oppression that critics associate with Marxist political thought.
Today we celebrate the sacred fire of liberty that, by God’s grace, has burned brightly in America for 250 years. This freedom is not man-made—it is a gift from our Creator, entrusted to us and sustained only through virtue, courage, and constant vigilance. In this episode, we take a sobering look at the recent White House Religious Liberty Commission Report, which reveals a clear and concerning pattern: religious freedom—the very first liberty our founders enshrined—is under increasing pressure in our nation. We also reflect on the eleven-year experiment of redefining marriage, and what we are now witnessing are not just cultural shifts, but real and devastating consequences. This is a moment for the Church to stand firm, speak truth in love, and contend for the timeless biblical foundations that have long anchored both faith and freedom. In today’s episode, we examine a historic moment in global economics: Elon Musk has become the world’s first trillionaire. What should be done with this kind of wealth? Is it purely a private achievement, or does it carry broader responsibility? And what role, if any, should government play in redistributing it? What does the Bible say about wealth - how it’s created, who ultimately owns it, and how it should be used?
In this episode, we explore the noticeable cultural shift happening around Pride Month in America. Corporate support that once felt nearly universal is now becoming more restrained, with many companies scaling back public engagement and funding. At the same time, some states have introduced alternative observances like “Nuclear Family Month,” highlighting a renewed emphasis on traditional family values.
James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Texas, is presenting a version of Christianity that blends progressive politics with gospel language - and that should concern every serious believer. When the truth of Scripture is reshaped to fit the spirit of the age, it’s no longer the gospel - it’s a substitute. At the same time, recent comments from an Indiana political leader about Islam have sparked outrage and accusations of bigotry.
In today’s episode, we explore a powerful and often misunderstood idea: the connection between Christ and the warrior ethos - and why a truly strong warrior culture ultimately depends on a Christian worldview rooted in transcendent values. A strong military is built on beliefs that transcend the individual - values that give meaning to sacrifice, boundaries to power, and purpose to suffering. That’s where Christ enters the conversation. Find out more at https://ron-johnson-discipleship-podca.pinecast.co
Something is shifting beneath the surface of our culture. While headlines continue to predict the decline of Christianity, a very different story is unfolding - one that many in the mainstream media struggle to explain. Across the nation and around the world, there are growing signs of a quiet but undeniable awakening. In leadership circles, men and women once silent about their faith are beginning to speak with bold conviction. In churches, boardrooms, and even public life, a renewed confidence in biblical truth is emerging. At the same time, perhaps even more surprising, young men are returning to church in increasing numbers - reversing decades of decline and leading what some researchers are calling a “spiritual renewal.”
