395\\ What Triggers Your Drinking? Understanding Alcohol Urges & Cravings.

Why Do I Want a Drink? Understanding Alcohol Triggers, Urges & Cravings Have you ever wondered why the desire to drink can come on SO strong—even when you told yourself you weren’t going to drink today? In this episode, we’re talking about the difference between alcohol triggers and urges and why understanding both can help you begin changing your relationship with alcohol. A trigger is what sets the pattern in motion. It could be stress, boredom, loneliness, resentment, a certain time of day, cooking dinner, being around certain people—or simply your brain recognizing a familiar drinking routine. The urge is what happens next: that internal pull that says, I want a drink. I need something. I deserve this. I just want to shut my brain off. But here’s what I want you to know: An urge is not an instruction. You can learn to give an urge some space instead of immediately reacting to it. And when you slow things down, you can start getting curious about what’s REALLY going on underneath the desire to drink. In this episode, we’ll talk about: The difference between a drinking trigger and an urge Why certain situations automatically make you think about alcohol What may actually be underneath your desire to drink How to pause instead of immediately reacting to an urge Questions you can ask yourself when a craving hits Why the goal isn’t to eliminate every trigger from your life How understanding your patterns can help you create real, lasting change If you’re tired of trying to use more willpower and you’re ready to understand what’s really driving your drinking, I created a free resource for you: 5 Hidden Reasons You Drink When You Said You Wouldn't 👉 GET THE FREE GUIDE HERE: https://setfreesisterhood.myflodesk.com/5hiddenreasons And if you’re ready for more personal support, I also work with women one-on-one to uncover the patterns underneath their drinking, process what’s really going on, and build a life where alcohol doesn’t have to be the answer. 👉 BOOK A FREE CALL WITH ME: https://calendly.com/setfreesister/30min Connect with Michelle & Set Free Sisterhood: Website: https://setfreesisterhood.com/Listen and subscribe to the Set Free Sisterhood Podcast so you don’t miss an episode.

394 \\ Is It Boredom—or Have You Forgotten How to Be Content Without a Drink?

Have you ever noticed that sometimes you want a drink when absolutely nothing is wrong? You’re not stressed. You’re not angry. You’re not even having a bad day. You’re just… bored. In this episode of Set Free Sisterhood, we’re talking about boredom drinking and what may actually be underneath that urge to pour a glass of wine when the evening feels long, ordinary, or a little too quiet. Maybe you can go two or three days without drinking, but then you start thinking, I’ve been good. I deserve a drink. But what happens when alcohol becomes the reward for not drinking alcohol? We’ll talk about how boredom, restlessness, the desire to mentally check out, and the need for “me time” can all keep alcohol feeling important—and why learning to experience contentment may be part of your freedom. In this episode, we’ll explore: Why boredom can trigger the urge to drink The “I’ve been good, so I deserve it” reward cycle What you may actually be craving when you want alcohol The belief that alcohol makes you more fun or social How to create pleasure, rest, and connection without drinking Why stillness can initially feel uncomfortable How to begin practicing contentment in ordinary moments Inviting God into the quiet instead of automatically trying to escape it Here’s a question to take with you: What if nothing needs to change right now? You don’t have to make every evening exciting. You don’t have to escape boredom. And you don’t need alcohol to make an ordinary moment better. You can begin practicing: “I’m in the process of learning how to be content in this moment.” If you’re tired of going a few days without drinking only to find yourself right back in the same cycle, I’d love to talk with you. 👉 Schedule a chat with me here:michelle@setfreesisterhood.com Let’s look at what’s really underneath your drinking and what it could look like to create lasting freedom—without shame, labels, or perfection.

393 \\ Want to Stop Overdrinking? Why Now Is the Time to Start.

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll deal with your drinking later… maybe after the holidays, after things calm down, or when January rolls around… this episode is for you. Because here’s the truth: December is coming whether you change anything or not. So instead of waiting for another “fresh start,” what if you used the next 12 weeks to actually understand your relationship with alcohol and begin creating real change? In this short episode, I’m talking about why right now may actually be the perfect time to start. We’ll talk about: Why waiting until January can keep you stuck in the same cycle How the upcoming holiday season gives you real-life opportunities to practice new tools Why you do NOT have to commit to never drinking again What you can learn from the slip-ups instead of beating yourself up over them What could be different by December if you decide to start now And most importantly, you don't have to do this perfectly. You just have to be willing to do something different. The Set Free Sisterhood Collective Starts Wednesday! This is your final invitation to join us for 12 weeks of faith-based coaching, support, community, and real conversations about what’s underneath your drinking. We’re keeping this group small, which means you'll have plenty of opportunity for personal coaching, questions, connection, and support. No labels. No judgment. No perfection required. 392\\ Why “I Deserve a Drink” Keeps You Stuck in the Drinking Cycle.

Have you ever made it through a long, stressful day and thought, “I deserve a drink”? Maybe you’ve been taking care of everyone else, working, running the house, dealing with family, making decisions all day—and that glass of wine feels like the one thing that’s finally for you. But what if the drink isn’t really what you’re craving? In this episode of Set Free Sisterhood, we’re digging into one of the hidden reasons you may keep reaching for alcohol even when you’ve told yourself you want to cut back: you’ve connected drinking with reward, relief, and what you believe you deserve. We’ll talk about how that pattern gets created, why your brain begins to expect alcohol at the end of a hard day, and what might actually be underneath that desire. I’ll also challenge you to start asking a different question: What do I really deserve? Because maybe you deserve more than a temporary escape. Maybe you deserve rest. Support. Peace. Fun. Connection. Time for yourself. A life you don’t constantly need relief from. And you can begin learning how to give yourself those things without automatically reaching for a drink. Ready for more support? Enrollment is open for the Set Free Sisterhood Collective, my 12-week faith-based coaching community for women who are ready to change their relationship with alcohol and understand what’s really driving the drinking. This isn’t about being perfect or promising you’ll never drink again. We’re going to work through the real-life triggers, habits, emotions, beliefs, and messy moments together—without shame or judgment. Learn more and join the Collective here: https://setfreesisterhood.com/collective We begin September 30th. I’d love to have you with us.

391 \\ There’s a Woman Underneath the Drinking; Let's Go Find Her!

Can I ask you something? Do you know what you want anymore? Not what your husband wants. Not what your kids need. Not what your boss expects. Not what everyone else thinks you should be doing. What do YOU want? Because somewhere along the way, a lot of women lose themselves. We become the mom. The wife. The caretaker. The responsible one. The employee. The business owner. The one everyone calls when they need something. And eventually, we look around and think: “Wait… where did I go?” And sometimes alcohol becomes one of the only things that feels like it's ours. The drink becomes our little escape. Our reward. Our time. Our way of feeling like ourselves again. But what if instead of trying to take that away, we started rebuilding the woman underneath it? I want you to start asking: What do I want? What do I enjoy? What have I stopped doing? Who am I becoming? This is bigger than drinking. And it's a big part of the work we'll be doing inside The Set Free Sisterhood Collective. https://setfreesisterhood.com/collective Because maybe the goal isn't just to stop drinking. Maybe the goal is to find yourself again.

390 \\ What if your drinking isn't about alcohol at all? What if it's about not wanting to feel what you're feeling?

Come enjoy some sisterhood time! Free Zoom meet up on September 15th at 6 pm EST. We will discuss the 5 Hidden Reasons you drink even when you dont want to. Register here: https://setfreesisterhood.myflodesk.com/freezoomsisterhood What if the drink isn't the thing you want? What if you want to NOT FEEL? Maybe you're angry. Lonely. Anxious. Disappointed. Overwhelmed. Resentful. And instead of feeling it… you pour a drink. Because for a little while, you don't have to deal with it. But here's the catch: The feeling doesn't actually go away. You just temporarily disconnect from it. And every time you do that, your brain gets another lesson: Feeling bad → Drink → Feel better What if you could learn something new? Feeling bad → Feel it → Process it → Move through it That's the work. This week's podcast: You're Not Drinking Because You Love Alcohol—You're Avoiding a Feeling And if you're ready to learn how to stop running from yourself, The Set Free Sisterhood Collective starts September 30th. 389 \\ Why You're Drinking at the End of the Day: The Mental Load and Over-Drinking.

Maybe you don't actually want the wine. Maybe you want RELIEF. You've been making decisions all day. Taking care of people. Working. Managing. Solving problems. Holding everything together. And by the end of the day? You don't want another responsibility. You want to SHUT YOUR BRAIN OFF. So you pour the drink. And for a little while, it works. That's what makes this pattern so powerful. The problem isn't that you're stupid or weak. Your brain has learned: Overwhelmed → Drink → Relief This week's episode is all about that pattern: Why You're Drinking at the End of the Day: The Mental Load and Over-Drinking And if you're realizing that what you really want isn't alcohol—it's relief—this is exactly the kind of work we're going to do inside The Set Free Sisterhood Collective. We start 9/30/2026. Email me “COLLECTIVE” at michelle@setfreesisterhood.com and I will send you the info. Let's find another way to exhale.

388 \\ Why You Keep Drinking Even When You Don't Want To.

There’s a moment I hear from women all the time: “I told myself I wasn’t going to drink tonight… and then I did.” Maybe you’ve had that conversation with yourself more times than you’d like to admit. You wake up determined. You make a promise. You tell yourself, Tonight will be different. And then 5:00 rolls around. You’re tired. Overwhelmed. Bored. Stressed. Lonely. Frustrated. And suddenly that drink sounds really good. Then comes the guilt. Why did I do that again? What is wrong with me? Why can’t I just control this? But what if the problem isn’t that you need more willpower? What if there’s actually something underneath the drinking that you haven’t learned how to address yet? That’s what I’m diving into on this week’s episode of the Set Free Sisterhood Podcast: Why Do I Keep Drinking Even Though I Said I Wouldn’t? 5 Hidden Reasons You Drink I’m breaking down the five hidden reasons that can keep you reaching for alcohol even when you genuinely want to stop. And this episode is just the beginning. Over the next six weeks, I’m going deeper into each of these reasons because I want you to start seeing your drinking differently. Not through shame. Not through “I should be better than this.” But through curiosity, understanding, and real change. And if you're listening and thinking, “Michelle, I know I need more support with this,” I have something coming. The Set Free Sisterhood Collective is a 12-week coaching experience for Christian women who are ready to stop over-drinking, understand what's really driving it, and create a life they don't need to escape from. We start September 30th, 2026, and enrollment is coming soon. If you want to be the first to know when enrollment opens, simply reply to this email with COLLECTIVE and I'll add you to the list. You don't have to keep having the same conversation with yourself. Let's get underneath it. Michelle

387 \\ Eight Years Alcohol-Free… But It’s Not Really About the Alcohol.

It’s been 8 years… but it’s not really about alcohol A couple of weeks ago, I hit 8 years alcohol-free. And I almost let the milestone pass without talking about it. Not because it isn't meaningful. It absolutely is. But because when I think about these eight years, I don't think about a number. I think about who I've become. I thought I was giving up alcohol. What I didn't realize was how much I was making room for: → Healing→ Self-trust→ Emotional health→ Better relationships→ Being a more present mom→ Understanding myself→ Growing in my faith→ Becoming the woman God created me to be Eight years later, I'm less interested in talking about what I don't drink and much more interested in talking about the life I get to live because I stopped using alcohol to escape it. And that's what this week's podcast episode is about. It's an honest conversation about what has happened over these eight years—and why I don't see this as simply a sobriety milestone. It's a becoming milestone. With love,Michelle Ready to get support or even curious? Email me michelle@setfreesisterhood.com

386 \\ Do You Worry About Your Adult Children? The Weight God Never Asked You to Carry.

Can we talk about something that is really hard for so many moms? Your kids growing up. Because here's the thing nobody tells you... Parenting doesn't end when they turn 18. The worries just change. When they were little, you worried about scraped knees, grades, and whether they were eating enough vegetables. Now you worry about: Are they making good choices? Are they happy? Are they struggling? Are they walking with God? Are they going to be okay? And maybe the hardest part... You can't fix it anymore. You can't step in and make the decision for them. You can't protect them from every heartbreak, mistake, or consequence. And if you're anything like many women I talk to, that helpless feeling can be overwhelming. Sometimes that stress leads us straight to the things we've used for relief... The glass of wine at the end of the day. The scrolling. The overthinking. The constant trying to figure out what we can do differently. But friend, what if the invitation isn't to try harder? What if it's to surrender deeper? In today's episode of the Set Free Sisterhood Podcast, we're talking about: ✨ Why worrying can feel like love✨ The difference between caring and carrying✨ How to stop trying to control what you cannot control✨ What it looks like to trust God with your adult children✨ How to love your kids while still protecting your own peace One of my favorite verses for this season is Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..." Notice Paul doesn't tell us not to care. He tells us where to take our care. Your adult children need your love. They need your prayers. They need your wisdom when invited. But they do not need you to carry their entire life on your shoulders. That burden was never yours. If you've been exhausted from worrying about someone you love, I hope this episode reminds you: You can love deeply and still let go. You can pray faithfully and still have peace. You can be a good mom and stop carrying what only God can handle. ❤️ Michelle Ready to get support or even curious? Email me michelle@setfreesisterhood.com

385 \\ Who Takes Care of the Caregiver? How to Care for Others Without Losing Yourself.

Can I ask you a question? Who takes care of the caregiver? The woman who remembers every appointment. The woman who checks in on everyone. The woman her adult children call when life falls apart. The woman helping aging parents, loving on grandchildren, supporting her family, serving others, and somehow trying to keep herself together. Maybe that's you. And here's what I want you to hear today: You matter too. Not just because of what you do for everyone else. Not because you're the dependable one. Not because you're the one who always knows what to say or how to fix it. You matter because you are a daughter of God. So many women I talk to have spent years pouring out, but they never learned how to receive. They carry everyone's emotions. They worry about everyone's choices. They try to fix things they were never meant to control. And eventually... they are exhausted. Sometimes that exhaustion leads them straight to the glass of wine at the end of the day. Not because they are weak. But because they are craving relief. A moment where they don't have to be responsible for everyone else. But friend, what if the answer isn't another drink? What if the answer is learning how to release what was never yours to carry? In today's episode of the Set Free Sisterhood Podcast, we talk about: ✨ The difference between caring and carrying✨ Why worrying feels like love (but steals your peace)✨ How to love people without trying to control their outcomes✨ How to let God carry what you cannot✨ The first steps to receiving support instead of always being the strong one I also want to remind you of something from Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..." God doesn't ask you to carry the whole world. He invites you to bring it to Him. If you've spent years being everyone's safe place, maybe it's time to create a safe place for yourself too. You don't have to do this alone. ❤️ Michelle Ready to get support or even curious? Email me michelle@setfreesisterhood.com

384 \\ What If Your Husband Still Drinks? Can Your Relationship Survive Your Sobriety?

One of the questions I hear most often is this: "What if my husband still drinks?" Maybe that's how you've always connected. Maybe he's perfectly happy having a beer while grilling or a glass of wine at dinner, and he doesn't understand why it's so hard for you. Maybe you've wondered if you can really change when alcohol is still part of your home. The answer is yes. Your healing doesn't depend on someone else's choices. It depends on the decisions you make each day to care for yourself, renew your mind, and trust God with the rest. Will it feel uncomfortable at times? Absolutely. Your relationship may shift as you create new habits, set healthier boundaries, and discover new ways to connect. But remember this: You don't have to convince your husband to change before you begin changing yourself. One of the greatest gifts you can give your relationship is becoming more emotionally healthy, more present, and more grounded in who God created you to be. That doesn't mean controlling someone else's behavior. It means leading with love, communicating honestly, and letting go of the pressure to carry what isn't yours. If you've been waiting for your husband to be "ready" before you pursue your own freedom, I hope today gives you permission to stop waiting. Your peace matters. Your health matters. Your freedom matters. And you're not alone in this. This week's episode of the Set Free Sisterhood Podcast dives deeper into this conversation, and I think it will encourage you if this has been weighing on your heart. I'm cheering you on every step of the way. With love, MichelleHost, Set Free Sisterhood Podcast Ready to get support or even curious? Email me michelle@setfreesisterhood.com

383 \\ You Can't Heal the Version of You That You're Busy Judging.

Have you ever noticed how quickly your mind turns against you after you mess up? "I should know better.""Why do I keep doing this?""I'll never change." We think being hard on ourselves will motivate us to do better. But shame has never been a good teacher. It keeps us stuck. Healing doesn't happen through self-hatred. It happens through awareness, honesty, and God's grace. In this week's episode of the Set Free Sisterhood Podcast, I'm talking about why self-judgment blocks healing and the three things every woman needs to process if she wants lasting transformation. We dive into: Why judgment keeps your brain stuck in survival mode. How to separate what you did from who you are. The difference between conviction from God and condemnation from shame. Three simple questions that can change the way you respond after a setback. Friend, you are responsible for your choices—but you are not defined by your worst moments. Romans 8:1 reminds us, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Imagine what would change if, instead of attacking yourself after every mistake, you got curious. Instead of asking, "What's wrong with me?" you asked, "What is God inviting me to learn here?" That's where healing begins. You've got this—and more importantly, God's got you. 382 \\ Change Your Identity, Change Your Life.

Have you ever stopped to think about why some choices feel automatic? It's not because you lack willpower. It's because your choices flow from the person you believe you are. For years, I believed I was "someone who drank wine to relax." That identity made drinking feel normal—even necessary. But when God began renewing my mind, something deeper changed. I no longer saw myself the same way, and my choices started changing too. That's what this week's podcast is all about. In this episode, we're talking about: Why identity shapes your everyday decisions. How the labels you've carried may be keeping you stuck. The difference between striving to change your behavior and allowing God to transform your mind. What "embodiment" really means and how to begin living as the woman God says you already are. Simple questions to help you make choices that align with who you're becoming. You don't have to become someone completely different. In Christ, you are becoming who God created you to be. One choice at a time. One day at a time. One renewed thought at a time. I pray this episode encourages you to let go of old labels and step into the freedom God has for you. Listen to the latest episode, and if it encourages you, I'd love for you to share it with a friend who needs this reminder too. Cheering you on, Michelle Ready to get support or even curious? 381 \\ Just Because You Think It Doesn't Mean It's True.

One of the things that surprises women the most when they stop overdrinking is how loud their thoughts become. They expect to feel peaceful. Confident. Free. Instead, they often find themselves battling self-doubt, overthinking, anxiety, and harsh self-criticism. And many start wondering if something is wrong with them. Nothing is wrong with you. What's happening is that you've removed one of your primary coping mechanisms. For years, alcohol may have helped take the edge off difficult emotions. It created distance between you and the thoughts you didn't want to face. At the end of a stressful day, instead of sitting with fear, disappointment, loneliness, insecurity, or overwhelm, you poured a drink. The thoughts were still there. You just didn't have to listen to them for very long. When you stop drinking, those thoughts can feel louder because they're no longer being drowned out. But here's what I want you to know: Loud doesn't mean true. Many of the thoughts that show up are not facts. They're protection. Your brain's primary job is to keep you safe, not help you reach your full potential. So when you're trying to make changes, your brain may offer thoughts like: "You'll fail." "People will judge you." "You're not strong enough." "Why even try?" Those thoughts aren't necessarily truth. They're often attempts to protect you from disappointment, rejection, embarrassment, or uncertainty. One of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself is: "What is this thought trying to protect me from?" That question creates space between you and the thought. Instead of automatically believing it, you become curious about it. As believers, we're reminded to take our thoughts captive because not every thought deserves our agreement. God's truth is often very different from the fearful stories our brains tell us. If you're in a season where your thoughts feel louder than ever, don't assume you're failing. You may simply be becoming aware. And awareness is the first step toward healing. The thoughts may be loud. But they don't get the final word. 380 \\ What Does Freedom Really Look Like This July 4th?

As we head into the July 4th holiday, I want to ask you a simple question: Do you feel free? Not the kind of freedom we celebrate as a country. The kind of freedom you experience in your everyday life. Do you feel free to make choices that align with your values? Do you feel free to show up as the woman God created you to be? Or do you sometimes feel pulled along by habits, expectations, and patterns you've never fully questioned? For many women, holidays can be revealing. Not because anything is wrong with celebrating. But because holidays often shine a light on the places where we're operating on autopilot. "It's a special occasion." "Everyone else is doing it." "I'll start again next week." Sound familiar? This year, instead of focusing on being perfect, I want to invite you to become curious. Ask yourself: What am I expecting alcohol to do for me? How do I want to feel when the day is over? What would make me proud tomorrow morning? Am I making intentional choices or automatic ones? Because freedom isn't about restriction. Freedom is about having the ability to choose. And if you've been thinking about getting support but telling yourself you'll wait until fall, I want you to know you don't have to spend the summer drifting, starting over, or feeling disappointed in yourself. This is exactly why I created the Summer Growth Pass. It's a chance to receive coaching, accountability, and support through the months when so many women lose momentum. Imagine arriving at Labor Day feeling stronger, clearer, and more confident instead of wondering where the summer went. If that's what you're looking for, I'd love to support you. Praying you experience a deeper kind of freedom this week. Ready to get support or even curious? Email me michelle@setfreesisterhood.com

379\\ Joy Isn’t a Feeling — It’s Your Weapon! (Especially When Life Feels Hard)

Most women think they need to feel better before they can change. More motivated.More confident.More “ready.” But that’s the trap. Because if your progress depends on how you feel…you will keep circling the same patterns every time life gets hard. That’s exactly why I recorded this week’s podcast episode: “Joy Isn’t a Feeling — It’s Your Weapon (Especially When Life Feels Hard)” Inside, I break down something most women have never been taught: Joy is not the reward for getting your life together. It’s the thing that actually helps you stay steady while you do it. Because let’s be honest… If you’re trying to stop overdrinking, heal old patterns, or grow into the woman you know you’re called to be— There are going to be days that feel uncomfortable.Days where your emotions are loud.Days where nothing seems to be “working” yet. And if you’re relying on happiness to carry you through that? You won’t last. But joy? Joy grounds you.Joy stabilizes you.Joy reminds you who you are when everything in you wants to run. This is the shift that changes everything. Ready to get support or even curious? Email me michelle@setfreesisterhood.com

378 \\ Why You Crave Alcohol During Happy Moments!

You expected cravings during stress. But nobody warned you about the cravings during the GOOD moments. The beach trip.Date night.Girls’ night.Friday evening.Celebrations.Vacation. And suddenly your brain says:“Wine would make this better.” Here’s what’s actually happening: Your brain built associations between alcohol and:✨ reward✨ relaxation✨ fun✨ connection✨ freedom That doesn’t mean alcohol is your soulmate. It means your brain learned a pattern. And patterns can be rewired. In today’s podcast episode, I’m breaking down: what’s happening in the brain why happy moments trigger cravings how dopamine and habit loops work why sobriety can feel “flat” at first practical ways to create joy without alcohol how to stop romanticizing drinking You do NOT need alcohol to validate that a moment matters. The moment already matters. And the beautiful part? Many women eventually realize they experience MORE joy sober because they’re finally fully present for their life. 377 \\ The Real Reason Your Confidence Is Struggling.

Most women don't plan to stay stuck. They don't wake up and decide: "Let's spend another season avoiding what's really bothering me." But that's often what happens. Life gets busy. Schedules fill up. The days start running together. The drinking continues. The distractions multiply. And before you know it, summer is over. Then September arrives with a familiar feeling: Regret. Regret that nothing really changed. Regret that you spent another season putting yourself last. Regret that the goals, healing, and growth you wanted somehow got pushed aside again. Here's the question I've been thinking about: What will this summer cost you if nothing changes? What will it cost your peace? Your health? Your relationships? Your confidence? Your purpose? Imagine instead arriving at the end of summer feeling stronger, clearer, more grounded, and proud of the commitments you kept to yourself. That's why I've opened a few spots for summer coaching. Whether you're a former client interested in the Summer Growth Pass or you're new and curious about getting support , I'd love to help you create a different ending to this summer. Email me at michelle@setfreesisterhood.com Here are those journal questions I promised: If nothing changes between now and Labor Day, how will I feel about myself? What promises have I been making to myself that I continue to break? What is it costing me emotionally to keep repeating the same patterns? How is overdrinking affecting my confidence and trust in myself? How is it impacting my relationship with God? What opportunities, experiences, or growth am I missing because I keep postponing change? If I continue exactly as I am for the next 90 days, what will likely be different? What will likely stay the same? What would I be most proud of if I looked back on this summer in September? What support do I need that I'm currently not giving myself? What's one decision I know I need to make today? Bonus Question: If I knew freedom, growth, and healing were possible, what would I do next?

376 \\ Looking Back Without Shame: God’s Grace in the Seasons You Stayed Too Long.

Have you ever looked back at a season of your life and thought: “What was I doing?”“Why did I stay so long?”“How did I not see it?” Maybe it was a relationship.A job.A pattern.A season of drinking.A version of yourself you barely recognize now. And now that you’re on the other side, there’s clarity. You can see the red flags. You can see what hurt you.You can see what you tolerated. You can see how disconnected you were from yourself. But instead of letting that clarity become wisdom…a lot of women turn it into shame. That’s what we’re talking about on this week’s episode of the Set Free Sisterhood podcast. Because the truth is:You are judging your past self with wisdom you only gained because you survived that season. You were not the same woman then that you are now. You didn’t yet have:– the awareness– the healing– the boundaries– the emotional capacity– the nervous system safety– the spiritual growth And even in the seasons where you stayed too long, settled, coped, negotiated, or kept trying to make something work… God was still there. Not absent. Not withholding. Not waiting for you to “get it together.” Working.Positioning.Teaching.Revealing.Preparing. This episode is about releasing regret without avoiding responsibility. It’s about learning from your past without living under it.It’s about recognizing that freedom gives you perspective you simply didn’t have before. And maybe…The fact that you can see it clearly now is proof that you’re no longer who you used to be. Ready to get support or even curious? Email me michelle@setfreesisterhood.com Love,Michelle
