Ep. 2190: Doug Giles: Dreaming Dreams at 85: How Caleb and Moses Prove Age is Just a Number In this high-energy episode of Take Five, Pastor Dave sits down with Doug Giles, a best-selling author, hunter, and outspoken minister. Doug shares his "clobbered by Christ" testimony—transitioning from a West Texas "redneck" and pot dealer to a global voice for a masculine, bold Christianity. The central theme of the discussion is Doug's latest book, Biblical Badasses: The Old Men, which challenges the idea that senior citizens should be relegated to the sidelines of the church. Doug argues that the modern church has failed by embracing age segregation, specifically through the creation of youth groups that isolate children from the wisdom of their elders. He delivers a blistering critique of "emasculated" church leaders who shuttered their doors during the pandemic, contrasting their "COVID cowardice" with the defiance of biblical figures like Moses, Daniel, and the "Rebel from Galilee," Jesus Christ.
