Rob McConnell Interviews - ANN McTAVISH - Bullying

Join Rob McConnell as he welcomes Ann McTavish for an important conversation about bullying—why it happens, the damage it can cause, and what parents, educators and communities can do when someone is being targeted. Bullying can take many forms, from verbal humiliation and social exclusion to intimidation, physical aggression and, increasingly, harassment through digital communications and social media. During this edition of The 'X' Zone Radio Show, Rob and Ann examine the human side of bullying and the lasting effect repeated intimidation can have on a person's confidence, relationships and sense of security. The discussion also raises difficult questions about the responsibilities of parents, teachers, schools and bystanders when warning signs appear—and why simply dismissing bullying as something children should learn to tolerate can allow harmful behaviour to continue. The conversation explores the importance of recognizing bullying early, encouraging victims to speak openly about what is happening, documenting incidents and ensuring that responsible adults take reports seriously. It also considers the bully: What causes someone to repeatedly intimidate another person? How much influence comes from family, peers and social environment? And can intervention address the behaviour before it becomes an established pattern? Join Rob McConnell and Ann McTavish on The 'X' Zone Radio Show for a thought-provoking discussion about bullying, responsibility, compassion and prevention. When does teasing become bullying? Why do some witnesses remain silent? What can parents do when their child is afraid to speak up? And how do we create homes, schools and communities where intimidation is confronted rather than ignored? Reliable biographical material identifying the specific Ann McTavish from this X Zone appearance is limited in currently indexed sources, so I have deliberately avoided adding unverified credentials or background information.
