Rob McConnell Interviews - DALTON WALKER - A Very Strange, and Unusual Rock

Join Rob McConnell as he welcomes Dalton Walker, whose unusual story centres on a mysterious rock he believed may have fallen from the sky. Unlike an ordinary stone picked up along a roadside or in a field, Walker considered this specimen strange enough to seek scientific examination and government records concerning tests allegedly performed on it. The 'X' Zone guest archive confirms Walker's appearance under the intriguing topic “A Very Strange Rock That Fell From the Sky.” Walker's determination to discover exactly what he possessed went beyond casual curiosity. A U.S. Department of Energy Freedom of Information Act case log from October 2007 records a request from Dalton Walker, Jr. seeking “all testing” and test reports concerning a rock he had submitted to Joel Rabovsky and which had apparently been received by scientists associated with the Food and Drug Administration. The government record establishes that Walker was actively seeking official documentation concerning scientific testing of the specimen, although the FOIA log itself does not establish what the rock ultimately proved to be.That uncertainty makes Walker's story especially suited to The 'X' Zone. Rocks apparently arriving from the sky immediately raise possibilities ranging from an ordinary terrestrial stone mistakenly identified as unusual to meteorites, industrial debris or other naturally occurring materials. Determining whether a specimen is genuinely extraterrestrial requires laboratory examination of its mineralogy, chemistry and physical structure. Without those results, extraordinary explanations—including suggestions of an artificial or alien origin—remain speculation.
