North Carolina Tar Heels left out of the preseason AP Top 25 for the first time since 2005-06—have the voters underestimated Michael Malone’s squad, or is the team truly unproven? Isaac Schade and Coach Bill Robinson break down the Carolina roster, assess Malone’s coaching potential, and question whether the Tar Heels deserve the benefit of the doubt like when Roy Williams was the head man.

Key topics include whether the absence of Cameron Fens and questions surrounding effort and rebounding will define the season, and the critical lessons from a stinging exhibition loss to Indiana. Robinson highlights what has to improve before the Charlotte matchup and discusses the mental reset needed after a tough preseason showing. With four ACC teams ranked and UNC sitting just outside, can the Tar Heels play their way back into the national conversation? Don’t miss this insightful look at UNC basketball’s evolving identity.
