Delete your account and data

This page explains how to delete your Onion Podcasts account and the personal data associated with it, what data is removed, and what we are legally required to retain.
How to delete your account
You can permanently delete your account at any time, directly from the Onion Podcasts app or website:
- Sign in to your Onion Podcasts account.
- Open Settings and go to the Security section.
- Select "Delete Account".
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
If you cannot access your account, you can request deletion by emailing contact@onionpodcasts.com from your registered email address, with the subject "Account deletion request".
What data is deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Profile information: your name, username, email address and avatar.
- Listening activity: playback history, playback position and played-episode records.
- Library: playlists, subscriptions, follows and favourite stations.
- User-generated content: your comments.
- Preferences: content-language and notification settings.
- Device data: push-notification tokens.
What is retained, and for how long
- Account and personal data is erased within a maximum of 30 days of your deletion request, including removal from routine encrypted backups as they rotate.
- Subscription and billing records are retained for a minimum of 5 years where required by law (Article 30 of the Spanish Commercial Code), after which they are deleted.
- We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own purposes; retained records are used only to meet legal obligations.
